The Browning X-Bolt 2 Nordic Vari-Tech Black Adjustable is purpose-built for UK hunters and stalkers who shoot with a moderator. Where most rifles treat suppressor compatibility as an afterthought, the Nordic range has been designed from the outset around it — featuring an 18.5″ barrel that keeps the overall package compact and manoeuvrable once a moderator is fitted, without sacrificing the accuracy or reliability that the X-Bolt 2 platform is renowned for.
The M14x1 threaded muzzle accepts a wide range of UK-legal moderators straight from the box, and at just 97cm overall length, this rifle handles with exceptional ease in woodland, high seats, and tight spaces where a full-length barrel would be a genuine hindrance.
Accuracy is uncompromised despite the shorter barrel. Each X-Bolt 2 barrel undergoes three stringent factory inspections, and the free-floating steel barrel is further enhanced by double bedding — anchoring the barrel and breech block assembly at two points relative to the forearm. This dual-contact system eliminates pressure inconsistencies that cost accuracy at range, ensuring shot-to-shot consistency that belies the rifle’s compact dimensions.
The DLX trigger adjusts between 800g and 1.3kg for a crisp, clean break at whatever pull weight suits your shooting style. The fluted bolt cycles smoothly and naturally, and the interchangeable bolt handle — compatible with Browning Maral 4X and A-Bolt 3+ handles — allows further personalisation. The top tang safety with bolt unlock button lets you open the breech safely without disengaging the safety, a well-considered feature for field carry.
The Vari-Tech adjustable composite stock delivers a genuinely personalised fit through its spacer system and adjustable comb, while the palm swell, tapered forearm, and Inflex I Gen2 32mm recoil pad — particularly effective with the powerful .308 Win cartridge — combine comfort with control in all shooting positions. Two 7mm external spacers and longer recoil pad screws are included to dial in your preferred length of pull precisely.
A Picatinny rail provides a rock-solid optic mounting platform, and the 4+1 drop box magazine allows fast reloads without breaking your position.
