Winchester XPR Thumbhole Varmint SR Bolt-Action Rifle – .223 Remington | 21″ Barrel
£810.00
The Winchester XPR Thumbhole Laminate Varmint SR is a purposeful, accuracy-focused bolt-action rifle chambered in .223 Remington with a 21″ free-floating, button-rifled chromoly steel barrel. Built to eliminate variables and deliver consistent precision, this is an outstanding choice for UK varminters, pest controllers, and stalkers who demand performance in all conditions.
The SR designation means Suppressor Ready — threading in .223 is 1/2″-28, making this rifle immediately compatible with the broad range of moderators available to UK FAC holders. A thread protector is included as standard.
Each XPR barrel begins as solid chromoly bar stock, carefully drilled and button-rifled to produce precise rifling and a burnished interior that reduces fouling and maximises velocity consistency. Every barrel is thermally stress-relieved and fully free-floated to eliminate pressure-point inaccuracy — particularly valuable across the UK’s variable seasons. The Perma-Cote matte-blued finish provides lasting weather protection.
The M.O.A. Trigger System — the same three-lever design as Winchester’s flagship Model 70 — delivers zero take-up, zero creep, and zero overtravel for a clean, consistent break that directly contributes to this rifle’s tack-driving accuracy.
The thumbhole wood laminate stock with raised cheekpiece promotes a natural, repeatable sight picture from any position, while the laminate construction resists warping and flex regardless of weather — a meaningful advantage in the British field environment. The solid machined steel receiver with Nickel Teflon-coated bolt, two-position thumb safety, detachable box magazine, and recessed target crown complete a feature set that punches well above this rifle’s price point.
